July 10, 2006 11:32 - How to Decide on a Digital Camera that's BEST FOR YOU!

Digital cameras are terrific electronic marvels that can produce years of wonderful memories. Of course, first you need to buy one; and thereiin lies the challenge.

Nikon? Canon? Pentax... the list goes on seemingly forever. And then, if manufacturers aren't plentiful enough, you need to choose between digital SLR and non-SLR. Then there is the never-ending list of features, that could give a headache to anyone.

What we're going to do is break down this complicated and frustrating process to logical bites. And after you do have a good idea which digical camera you want, we'll even tell you how to get the best deal, using some internet purchasing secrets. Ready? Let's begin.

Which Make Should I Get?

Most of the brands available today are excellent. And that is part of the reason why it's so difficult to decide on which one to buy.

I apply a very simple philosophy which is elaborated on my own version of the digital camera magic 8-ball. Bottom line, all other things being equal, go with the best... Canon or Nikon.

With so Many Features, Which Do I Need?

Are you familiar with the expression: "A little knowledge is dangerous"? Well, regarding digital camera features, "A lot of knowledge can cause a 48 hour stay in the local psych ward!" What I always found best was NOT a chart that listed every feature along with it's definition, but rather what does each feature do for me? You can examine such a list here.

After Discovering My Perfect Digital Camera,
How can I get the Best Price?

Everyone has their own beliefs and levels of comfort in how they buy things. Far be it from me to try to talk anyone out of what they are comfortable with. However, if you are open to truly getting the best price, even if that means doing something you may not have done before, this is for you!

People buy on-line all the time. But just like buying a car, knowing how the game is played can save you money. Those are the type of buying secrets covered in digital-camera-prices.

Hope this helped. And, remember...

Keep shooting.
