Edit in computer software, not in your camera

by Kathleen K. Parker
(New Orleans, LA USA)

So often camera owners find an editing program IN their cameras and use that instead of taking their photos to a program such as Photoshop or Elements. While using this in camera processing, many people I know have lost the image or have resized it to an "unusable for print" smaller size, for the camera did not make a copy but instead changed the original photo to a websize photo. Later they decide they want a print. Too late. It can be fine and fun to do this in camera processing, but you have to know what you are doing and the trade-offs. USE COMPUTER editing software, and always save your original image in a safe place!!!
