Newborn Baby

Hush Little Baby...

While in the hospital, I really wanted to get professional photo's of the baby, but I didn't have the money to do it, so I fashioned my own photo shoot the day we left the hospital. I draped a white cloth over my bed, had the window blinds all the way up to let in all the sunlight, dressed my daughter all in white, and took this picture.

I love how the foreground is all blurred, and how the sunlight just dances off her face. What makes it more beautiful is the slight case of jaundice she had which gave her a very tanned look. She wasn't washed out at all in the picture. None of it was overexposed either which I was happy about. It wasn't a sunny day outside, it was overcast, but the sun was shining so bright through the cloud cover.
