Proud German Shepherd

by Melissa
(Bowling Green, KY)

My husband and I had just planted our first garden the evening before this picture was taken. We had carefully transfered our baby tomato plants outdoors Friday night. Saturday morning we let the dogs outside to do their business. We have a fenced in yard so we often just let them play.

When I went outside to play with my new camera and take photos of them, our German Shepherd, Dutchess, ran into the middle of the garden, rolled over on her back, and used my new tomato plants like a back scratcher. Needless to say, the tomatoes died... but she was so happy with herself. When I called her to me, but she simply sat up and smiled, very proud of herself. I took the picture and I love it, but I still grumble about the tomato plants that were sacrificed to get it!
