Serendipity and that photo

Serendipity means happy accident. It is that photo that you were not expecting but you were in the right place at the right time. I have a point and shoot that I take with me everywhere. I have gotten some shots that I will never get again. This photo is of a garden snake eating a slug. I was in the garden and my cat Casey sat by some stones and I went to pet her when I noticed that snake trying to make lunch of this slug. I ran into my bedroom and grabbed my camera and started shooting. I was able to get a few shots. This was nature in the raw and I have since tried to photograph our garden snakes and they know I am coming, they slither away. I have not taken a snake photo this summer in 2010. It pays to have that little camera with you at all times. It is those moments that come up, that sometimes you wish you had that camera with you and all you can talk about is the photo that got away. I have found that some of my best photos were taken with my nose aimed at the ground. Another one is of a slug eating a blade of grass. I was walking past the slug and I noticed something different and I went down to the ground and I saw the slug with a blade of grass in its mouth.
