Star Outfielder

by David Gordon
(Saugerties, NY, USA)

Timone appears to be trying to catch the ball with his paws.

Timone appears to be trying to catch the ball with his paws.

I was taking pictures of the kids in my community playing in the common oval when I noticed one of my neighbors tossing a ball for her dog.

I switched gears and swung the camera around to get several shots of the dog, Timone, leaping to catch the ball.

I racked the 35-105 lens out to the maximum (actually about 160, given the increased focal length using a film camera lens on a digital camera) and caught him in midair - though he missed the ball on this try.

The camera is a Minolta Maxxum 5D, with a Minolta 35-105 lens originally designed for a film Minolta.
