by Dick Nieuwendyk
(Dorval, Quebec, Canada)

Super Perigee Moon - March 19, 2011

Super Perigee Moon - March 19, 2011

The photo of the Super Perigee Moon was shot on March 19, 2011
at 19h47 from the Air Canada base near Montreal.
Camera: Nikon D200
Lens: 70-300 Nikkor
I shot this picture with the camera mounted on a tripod, using a remote control 7 sec at f/8 - ISO 100.

The moon was 14% larger than usual and 33,575 km away from earth.
The last time a Super Moon seen was in March 1993.
