The Care and Feeding of Batteries

by Reggie
(Atlanta, GA; USA)

After going to enough places with charged batteries, only to have them last for about 10 pictures before getting that darn flashing low battery icon, here's a few tips I've learned the hard way:

+ Fully charged batteries will discharge at varying rates, if not used for awhile. Therefore, let your batteries discharge; but charge them JUST BEFORE YOU NEED THEM.

+ If traveling by air in cold climates, assume the camera is going to be exposed to the cold for some time period, so keep the batteries with you if you need to use the camera immediately upon arrival.

+ If planning to take a bunch of flash shots, conserve battery strength by reducing the time for reviewing pictures and/or the intensity level of your LCD screen.
