The Wall

by Corey A. Jordan
(Washington DC)

The Wall

The Wall

Working with another photography friend who was from the West Coast, and had never been to Washington DC, we walked around from monument to monument for a good bit of the evening.

We ended up at the Vietnam Veterans Memorial, also known as 'The Wall', and we played around with the idea of doing a long exposure of 'the Wall' and the Washington Monument with it being in the picture.

I went for a low camera angle to get the massive look of 'the Wall' and try to make sure that I off set the Washington Monument in the background.

I photographed with my Nikon D100 at F6.3 with a 20 second shutter speed. During the exposure I waved my hand to the upper corner of my lens to vignette the Washington Monument to make it not so bright in the image. The result was something that I loved, and I use the image as a screen saver on my laptop.
