BW balance
by: Anonymous

I think if it were darker with a bit of contrast added that might make it more visually intersting, as well as portrait opposed to landscape, and if the top could be cropped/edited to correct the blown-out white area that would be great!

picture is centered
by: Anonymous

Great pic. My only suggestion would be to have the person more off center; probably more to the left.

It needs cropping.
by: Anonymous

Personally I also think that the plastic bag distracts, especially because it also has something written on it. The eyes of the viewer goes there first before seeing the details of the man. If you could put more details in front of the man or if you could even crop the picture and give the picture a portrait-orientation, it would look very nice. The old man's picture/posture is just right for me for a b&w photography. Well done!

Crop to follow the gaze
by: Anonymous

I think you need to crop the photo to move your object (the old man) from the middle to the left. This way, there will be more movement in the photo as the viewer follows the gaze of the man. And of course, that plastic bag will also conveniently disappear :)

Punch!
by: Anonymous

Actually, I take that back. I think it needs nothing. You have wonderful detail, exposure looks fab. Consider me RETRACTED!

PUNCH!
by: Anonymous

I would punch up the contrast to make the blacks and whites more distinct. It's a very good picture, but I think a punch to the contrast would make it even better.

Good pic
by: Teresa

Good capture, great emotion. The only thing I see that I would change is the bag in the background. If you could take this out, this photo would be perfect.

I like this picture. You captured the mood perfectly. I don't see anything wrong with it.
