to the hills

by Neville Baker
(Bethulie, Orange Free State, South Africa)

f10, iso 200, 55mm, 1/250, p mode, - taken enroute between bethulie, orange free state, south africa, and gariep dam. i was scouting for photo opportunities when i came across this scene which, because of the depth displayed, interested me. the orange free state is a very dry area and usually very yellow. i think it is better, in such cases, to rather use b&w than colour. in these areas, there are plenty of abandoned, stripped and delapidated farm-houses, etc., which will make for excellent b&w photos.
